Tavo was born from the conviction that technology should simplify kitchen work, not complicate it. That's why we've built a clear, fast and accessible interface from any device, with no technical training required.
The team behind Tavo combines experience in the restaurant industry with software engineering and product design. We are committed to continuously improving the tool, actively listening to the professionals who use it every day so that Tavo evolves alongside their businesses.
Why Tavo exists
It all started in conversations with friends, not in a boardroom.
Several of them ran food businesses — a bakery, a catering company, a production kitchen — and they all said pretty much the same thing: they knew how to cook, they knew how to sell, but they didn't always know whether they were actually making money at the end of the month. The cost of a dish crept up without anyone noticing, waste ate into the margin, and putting together an event budget meant half an afternoon with a calculator and an Excel spreadsheet.
To try to keep it under control, they ended up using three or four different apps — one for inventory, another for recipes, another for sales — that didn't talk to each other and that, added up, took a not-insignificant chunk of profit every month. Too much effort and too much money for a business that already operates on tight margins.
I used my experience to build what they needed from the start: a single tool to run a food business without costing an arm and a leg in monthly payments — where running the kitchen and understanding its profitability live in the same place, instead of being spread across five apps and a calculator.
That's how Tavo was born: not as an abstract idea, but as a response to a problem I experienced up close, told by the people who know it best — those who cook every day and make their business work.
“I didn't build Tavo thinking about a demo. I built it because my friends were missing a single tool to run their business without spending half their income statement on subscriptions.”
